Sheltered high above it all, Blizzard Jonas didn't seem all that bad. My apartment was warm, dry and sheltered from the punishing wind.  

But as the storm intensified, the visibility from my perch became worse and worse -- initially obscuring the children playing in Tear Drop Park and then, nearly whiting out the view of the court yard, 8 floors below. The Freedom Tower, normally visible from this window (to the southeast) was completely obscured for the entire day.
